La Salle Academy is thrilled to honor Richard P. Libretti with a Lasallian Medal this year for his steadfast dedication to his alma mater. A proud alumnus of La Salle Academy, Mr. Libretti credits much of his professional and personal success to the education he received from the Christian Brothers.

After joining Sandler O’Neill + Partners, L.P. in 1991, Mr. Libretti was named a Principal in January 1999. He is a former Senior Vice President of Tucker Anthony and a former Partner of L.F. Rothschild & Co., where he co-managed the Bank Service Group.

Mr. Libretti has had a stellar career in finance, working with mid-tier financial institutions offering advice on balance sheet management and strategic planning. He received a Bachelor of Science in Economics and Philosophy from St. Peter’s University, where he is a Trustee. At St. Peter’s, he is involved with the Academic Success Program, which helps students reach their full potential by motivating them to build the necessary skills to succeed in whatever path they choose. He also serves on the Mission and Ministry Committee, as well as the Student Life and Development Committee.

Mr. Libretti is passionate about supporting youth organizations. He has followed the spirit of the La Salle mission and has focused on helping young people with diverse backgrounds and needs. He is involved with the Red Cloud Indian School in Pine Ridge, South Dakota and the Little Flower School on Eastern Long Island, New York.

Mr. Libretti is on the Board of the Pontifical Seminary and Institute of Theology at Posillipo in Naples, Italy and he is a veteran of the United States Marine Corps.
