NEW YORK KNICKS SHOOTING GUARD JOHN STARKS TO SPEAK TO LA SALLE ACADEMY SENIOR CLASS

East Village, N.Y., May 23, 2017 – Retired New York Knicks shooting guard John Starks will speak to La Salle Academy’s Class of 2017 at their senior class breakfast on Tuesday, May 30th at the school on East 6th Street in the East Village.

With an impressive basketball resume, Starks is best known for his time playing for the New York Knicks until he retired from the NBA in 2003 as one of the most beloved players in Knicks history. To this day, he remains a fan favorite in the New York area. Currently, Starks serves as Alumni and Fan Development Advisor for the Knicks and manages the John Starks Foundation, which provides financial assistance to high school seniors.

“We are thrilled to have John Starks visit La Salle. He is an incredible role model for our boys. I know that his words and story have a positive impact on them so that they will remember this experience for the rest of their lives and understand the true meaning of giving back,” said Dr. Catherine Guerriero, President of La Salle Academy.

This event is La Salle’s final send-off for their Class of 2017 seniors, who will graduate on Thursday, June 1st from St. Patrick’s Cathedral in Midtown Manhattan.
