LSA Poetry Out Loud!

Yesterday afternoon, nearly 20 students took the floor to present poems from various authors including John Greenleaf Whittier, Robert Frost, Alexander Pope and many more. Some young men even presented their own poetry. La Salle has always incorporated poetry into the English curriculum, but this was the first time they were given the chance to participate in Poetry Out Loud. Each student gave it their all as they showed off their skills of theatricality, conviction, and articulation.

  

After much deliberation, the winners were determined as such:

1st Place: Ricky Jagroo, Barbara Frietchie by John Greenleaf Whittier

2nd Place: Nelson Millwood, The Road Not Taken, Robert Frost

3rd Place: Luis Tejada, The Road Not Taken, Robert Frost
