September 2017

Kerry ConroyDear Parents/ Guardians:

It is a pleasure to welcome you to the new school year. We especially welcome the Class of 2021. We have had an incredible summer continuing programs including CHIRP, CHIRP Plus, Summer Readiness, College Explorers, and La Salle Basketball Camp. This was all in addition to preparing an additional floor of classrooms. This promises to be an exciting year with a number of new activities and programs. We hope that this year will be a successful one for your son.

Your son will bring home a school calendar on his first day. Besides the many activities of the school, it also lists holidays and early dismissals. A significant factor in academic success is attendance and this includes being on time each day. Please try to make appointments on school holidays and early dismissal days.

I would like to call your attention to two dates on the calendar. The first is September 26th. This is the first meeting of our Parents Association. This will be held in the Alumni Center at 44 E. Second St at 6 PM. This is a great way to get involved, meet other parents, and support our school community. We are a family at La Salle and we could not do what we do without you. The second is the “Back to School” night on September 20th. This night allows you to meet your son’s teachers as well as the new members of our administration. I personally invite and highly encourage your attendance at both of these important events.

We will continue to use the plus portal system as the principal means of keeping you up-to-date with your son’s work and progress. This system is where you can find his homework assignments and grades. For those of you who may be new to the system, Mr. Matthew Stark, our Assistant Principal for Academic Affairs, will send out email invitations regarding training sessions for the system for anyone who would like to attend. Please be on the lookout for his email.

I am confident that 2017-2018 is going to be our best year yet. I will update you regularly on the upcoming events at the school through my Principal’s Newsletter. Please look for them in your email. Know that I am always available to you for questions, concerns, suggestions, etc. We are always looking for ways to better serve our students. Please feel free to reach out to me at any time.

As we begin this school year, we ask God’s blessings on you and your family.

Live, Jesus, in our hearts! Forever!

Sincerely,
Kerry M. Conroy
