Cardinals CHIRP!

Every year, La Salle Academy invites the incoming freshmen to participate in the summer readiness program. This year, in addition to the summer readiness program, La Salle launched the CHIRP program. CHIRP (Cardinal High Intensity Readiness Program) is a two-week enrichment program for high achieving incoming freshmen. This program incorporates more action-based learning and trips to engage students outside the classroom.

During the month of July, the 12 incoming freshmen in CHIRP explored New York and many of the cultural experiences the city has to offer. The students visited the Museum of Natural History, went geocaching in Central Park, and rode The Beast speedboat to the Statue of Liberty and Ellis Island. In the classroom, students were able to participate in fun learning activities as well as engage in some early STEM education. Students were able to meet some fellow classmates and become familiar with La Salle before the school year begins in September.
