On his feast day, we are reminded of the man behind our mission at La Salle Academy, Saint John Baptist de La Salle. As an educational reformer, Saint John Baptist de La Salle dedicated his life to the education of poor boys in France. Saint John Baptist de La Salle was born into a wealthy family, but gave up everything to give the necessary educational opportunities to boys who would otherwise not have the resources to do so. At La Salle Academy, we strive to embody his selflessness and his dedication to do God’s will.

Saint John Baptist de La Salle is the patron saint of teachers. Today, please pray for teachers, especially those at La Salle Academy, that they can continue to educate our Brothers’ Boys in the Lasallian spirit. Happy Feast Day! Live, Jesus, in our hearts…forever!
