Dear Friends of La Salle Academy,
My first year as President of La Salle Academy was a challenging experience on multiple fronts. Fortunately, I felt associated with colleagues who share my passion for achieving the mission of our school and who are committed to serving together for that purpose. The generosity of alumni and other benefactors, even during these past three months, has been a welcome source of affirmation. Parents and students demonstrated flexibility, resilience, patience, and understanding to a remarkable degree. Despite unprecedented circumstances, it was a blessed year!
Earlier this month, more than 110 students, parents, faculty and staff came together over Zoom for a Virtual Senior Breakfast, “A Call From Home,” to celebrate the Class of 2020. Read more about the event here.
On June 4th, we celebrated the 50th and 25th Graduation Anniversaries for the Classes of 1970 and 1995, respectively. Despite not being able to gather in person, it was great to see so many alumni from near and far join us over Zoom!
The Class of 2020 paid a visit to their Lasallian “home” this month to return their tablets and textbooks and to clean out their lockers. We wish them a safe and healthy summer before heading off to their next endeavors! Click here to see where they will be going in the fall.
La Salle Academy’s Senior Creative Writing class, under the direction of Mr. Elliott Krause, recently published the spring 2020 edition of their literary magazine. To read some essays, short stories, and poems, and to view some artwork, click here.
Traditionally, we host the Cardinal Readiness Program in the summer with the goal of preparing our incoming freshmen to meet the social and academic expectations we have at La Salle. Last week we launched a digital version of the program called “Get Ready… Get Set…” through Zoom. (Pictured here is one of our new freshmen with recent graduate Steven Dumeng ’20 at Accepted Students Day in February.)
Our “Empower Through Education” text campaign launched on June 11th in honor of La Salle’s Class of 2020. We are seeking 41 more donors to help us reach our goal of 74 (in recognition of the number of young men in this year’s graduating class) by the time the campaign concludes this Thursday, July 2nd. If you have already contributed, thanks for your graduation gift! If you haven’t done so yet, text LSAEMPOWERS to 41444 or click here. We appreciate your contribution.
Our website is getting a brand new look! Visit www.lasalleacademy.org starting July 1, 2020 to preview the latest redesign and share your feedback with us by replying to this email. Funding for this project was made possible thanks to a grant from The Theresa and Edward O’Toole Foundation. Enjoy!

President
