La Salle Academy’s August Recap
We are excited to welcome the entire community as the start of the new school year officially commences! In the waning days of the summer, activity ramped up throughout the month of August. I met several students who volunteered to help get the school ready for September. New cafeteria tables and chairs arrived to provide a more comfortable experience for lunch periods and numerous school events. Thank you to our generous benefactors who made these improvements possible. Read below to learn more on what took place at La Salle in August.
La Salle student athletes and alumni volunteered with the 50 Ways Foundation Back to School Drive co-founded by Bryce Council ’17 and NBA point guard Cole Anthony of the Orlando Magic. We are thrilled to introduce our newest faculty members. Pictured left to right: Ms. Barbara Powers (Theology), Mr. Michael Camba (History) and Mr. Aaron Hillyer (English). Mr. Michael Camba will also be teaching a language class introducing Latin into our curriculum.
Four of our students completed The Cooper Union Summer STEM Program. This innovative program offers introductory and advanced design and engineering classes for current freshman, sophomore and junior high school students.

Around Athletics
Our Cross-Country runners began training at Van Cortlandt Park and our Soccer team has been practicing, both teams are looking to defend their respective 2022 City Championships!
The 2023 Cardinal Summer Basketball Camp is in the books! Thank you to our staff and volunteer La Salle Alumni coaches for making this possible for the community.
