La Salle on the Town!
Thursday, September 20, 2018, Manhattan, NY – La Salle Academy students, administration and faculty were in full force this past weekend as they marched in two city-wide cultural parades.
On Saturday, a group of La Salle students led the way in The 92nd Annual Feast of the San Gennaro Parade, which celebrated the spirit and faith of Italian-American culture in historic Little Italy in Lower Manhattan. La Salle students were even selected to lead the “blessing of the stands” last week in preparation for The Feast.
La Salle continued the weekend festivities on Sunday at The 49th Annual African American Parade, which celebrated African-American culture, heritage and legacy. The La Salle young men proudly marched the streets of Harlem, led by the La Salle Academy band.
La Salle Academy has a long-standing relationship with these two historical community organizations. Both events brought these students together as a brotherhood and promoted the values of community service and cultural and social awareness.
